Spring Housekeeping 🌷

Spring is here and we’re doing housekeeping. Well, we’re ramping up to deliver a range of updates with a new partner over the next few months. It’s the kind of work I love the most: meaningful changes guided by users 😊.

But first, to the housekeeping. For the longest time, our machine management has been held separate from the main aMES site. That has historical reasons but doesn’t really make sense. Folks want to be able to edit their printer details on the same page they are adding machine details like downtime. So we moved the machine edits from the historical page into aMES. Feels right now:

But there are more functional upgrades too. Ones you wouldn’t necessarily notice but make life immeasurably easier. Rules that protect folks from doing things that will break their workflow for instance: In this case, we’re making sure that when an object is sent for rework, folks can only take the action on objects that share the same workflow at a time:

And there are changes that you’d notice. For example, the ability to see actual production times. That’s important because folks want to know what their margin was on a part. It’s also an example of the benefits that happen when you control the whole process in one system – we have access to all the information on how long the part spent at each stage, the material used, even the time spent on work instruction.

We’re adding a lot more data every day so expect even more transparency, helpful guides and analytics on top of the automation we’re delivering. Can’t wait to tell you all about them.
