Collaborative Data 🤝

It’s been a busy couple of weeks, with booths at AMUG in Nevada and Develop3D in the UK, along with presence at AM Village in Spain (that was Tex, to be fair). I’m off to the Defense Manufacturing Conference in Orlando tomorrow, and Rapid is coming up. It’s mad. But it’s good, because I’m allowed to start having conversations about Whisper.

It then makes that data available to what we’re calling Effectors (though the team is secretly hoping we’ll still change the name 😉). Think of Effectors that:

Provide real time gantt charts from your collaborative data

Create documents automatically based on templates (in this case, inside of a new interface – but you could just as well trigger it from an existing environment)

Give you real-time updates of what’s really going on through directly in your Slack/Teams instance (see this video example)

Update your to-do list, PLM tools, project management tools and more

Check your chatter against (internal & external) standards and assess your company’s compliance with it. (as shown in this video)

You can also think of this in terms of the emerging opportunities in Agentic AI in general: Whisper Core is like ClawdBot for Enterprise, while the Effectors are Skills you teach it. The only difference: It’s actually secure.

We’re lucky that we’ve had the experience with Threads to show us how valuable this data is in the short term. It’s not just about the lofty goal of intent capture. As you can see from the list above, it has real, meaningful impact, today. There are a thousand other ways this data can help you: expose risk & data leakage, create MBSE models, accelerate onboarding for new team members, surface conflicting decisions before they hit production, and auto-generate certification and audit evidence packs.

The tool is still in Alpha. It releases mid-April, so please don’t talk about it publicly yet. But if you are intrigued, get in touch. I’d love to talk about how this might help you. We’re pursuing a new business model with this too: The tool’s source code will be available to you if you collaborate with us now. So, there’s just a one-time fee to host this locally and never pay us again. And that fee is discounted by 50% if you sign up before July.

Of course, I prefer to talk in person – so if you’re at DMC or Rapid in the next couple of weeks, let me know.

The future is beyond exciting. So many possibilities are opening up. Whisper is an amazing reflection of that. I’m so proud of the team for what it’s built, and excited to share it with the world. 🚀

I’ve teased it before. Or more probable: I’ve talked about my deep frustration that the most interesting data – collaborative data like emails, transcripts, chat messages, project management updates, and so much more – isn’t being used in any meaningful way. They are intermittent, ethereal blobs of knowledge, lost as soon as they are read.
