Adding online quality control into the workflow of Authentise.

The collaboration integrates nebumind’s ‘digital twin’ visualizations, which fuses machine parameters and sensor data with the original part geometry, with Authentise’s FLOWS AM data-driven workflow management that integrates real-time production data from SLM Solutions machines.

This reduces time to set up the visualizations by using data already present in FLOWS AM, and provides access to the digital twin from within the interfaces users already work in. It increases part-by-part analytics and thus reduces part processing time and costs. The insight generated will also contribute to automated quality reporting within FLOWS AM.

Benefits?

Cost effective
“Defected parts” spotted during printing are removed from the workflow, saving money, time and resources.

Time reduction
The 40% scrap and repair costs are divided about equally between scrap and repair. Therefore, a 20% reduction in scrap also leads to a 20% reduction in time.

Environmental impact
IDT helps reduce the high scrap rate in 3D printing that leads to a very negative Co2 footprint of 3D printed components.

Take advantage of industrial engineering & manufacturing software forged in some of the industry’s most flexible & fast-moving environments.

Authentise’s platform for industrial engineering and manufacturing provides a modular set of applications that allows customers to deploy what they require, on their terms, not ours. Commitment can scale or shrink according to need.

Further development

We’re planning to extend the integration to allow for consideration of third party sensors, in addition to machine sensors. These could include in-process or post-process scanning techniques.

In addition to ensuring in-process quality, we also expect to develop and deploy algorithms that can use the holistic set of data to verify the quality of each party - permitting reinsurance and other opportunities.
